teaching philosophy
At Metro East Golf Lessons our goal is to provide players with the knowledge they need to shoot lower scores on the golf course. Sometimes this means improving certain aspects and fundamentals of the golf swing and other times, it's as simple as learning what clubs/shots give the player the highest percentage of success for a particular scenario. We will look at each part of your golf game and develop a comprehensive plan to attack your weaknesses and capitalize on your strengths. Our goal is not to completely remake your golf swing, we want to take the most simple and clear cut path towards success and playing better golf.
We believe in "coaching" golf because that means taking into account all parts of the game, finding strengths and weaknesses, and developing them into one whole. The following are some of the areas that past players have developed to help them shoot lower scores.
Short game (pitching, chipping, putting), bunker play, improving distance, understanding their ball flight, club selection, diet plan for competition, pre and post shot routine, visualization on the golf course, and developing a pain-free swing.
We provide golf coaching and instruction to golfers of all ages and skill levels. Our services range from the basic golf lesson all the way to an 18 hole playing lesson. The options are endless and lesson customization is fully up to the golfer.

- 45 minute focused lesson
- 45 minutes of coaching based on a specific area of the player's game that he or she needs to improve.
- Professional Practice Session
- This is a guided practice session in which the golfer and professional practice alongside each other. Fantastic for the golfer that doesn't know what or how to practice or maybe finds themselves loosing focus during their normal practice routines.
- Playing Lesson
- These can be scheduled for any amount of time and are extremely flexible and valuable for the golfer looking to improve. The player will play alongside the professional and this allows for a more realistic scenario for instruction. The coach can see first hand how the player performs under different circumstances as well as witness other intricacies the golfer may not even know they are doing and thus cannot report them to the coach for correction during a normal lesson.
- Specialized Lessons
- These are instruction sessions that can be customized to any amount of time and can address any part of the player's game.
- Usually focus on putting (putter fitting, stroke characteristics, setting up specific putting practice plan).
- Also great for specific short game shots (chips, pitches, flops, bunker shots, etc.).
